7 Ways to Celebrate Your Anniversary in Franklin
It’s fun when asked how I met my wife and I get to tell the whole story all over again. We were both so young back then, but I knew from the first moment I met her that she’d be my wife. I can’t quite explain it or string the right words together to describe that experience, but now 15 years later life just keeps getting better and better. Over the years we’ve celebrated our anniversary in lots of different ways from nights out on the town to quiet moments at home, but our favorite tends to be celebrating somewhere in Franklin, Tennessee. So if you’re planning an anniversary trip soon, in keeping with the theme of love this February I put together a list of seven ways to celebrate your anniversary in Franklin.
Let’s jump in!
1. A Little Fusion
I’m starting with this one because Wild Ginger is my wife and I’s favorite spot to celebrate together in Franklin. It’s a great idea to call ahead and get a reservation, but even if you’re like me and forget to plan ahead, chances are they’ll be able to fit in you somewhere. The menu is an excellent combination of fusion flavors we both enjoy and their bar menu is even better. I strongly suggest trying their Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita. It’s delish! From there, we love taking a stroll around Cool Springs Galleria for no reason in particular or stopping at the bookstore and connecting with what inspires our souls.
2. Night of DIY
Have you heard of AR Workshop? After many years of leading countless fans through DIY projects online, they’ve recently opened a shop where you can reserve private workshops or just show up on any pre-themed class covering all sorts of fun home decor categories. Be sure to check out their calendar online to reserve your spot and remember it’s BYOB, so come prepared!
3. Historic Farm to Table
Perhaps you’re looking to celebrate or even create a landmark anniversary then you should become familiar with Harvest at Homestead Manor located just south of Franklin, Tennessee in Thompson’s Station. First of all, let’s get the important things out of the way, the food at Harvest is outstanding. You won’t be sorry. But secondly, the entire property at Homestead Manor is beautiful, and every room is delightfully decorated to tell pieces of the history created on the property. It makes the perfect package for the anniversary celebration you want to remember!
4. Make a Difference
Everyone at some level wants to make a difference, right? The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County has the perfect opportunity if you’re going to celebrate an anniversary and make a difference at the same time. Contact them directly for details and pricing but every three months or so new brick pavers are placed in Historic Downtown Franklin continuing the preservation efforts which have officially won us the “Great American Main Street” designation and led to us being named America’s Favorite Main Street. You can have your names forever etched in Franklin’s story and help a great organization continue to do great work in our beloved community.
5. Adventure’s Calling
The Crag in Cool Springs is a great way to celebrate an anniversary if you’re always looking for new experiences! Depending on the type of person you are, and whether you like to climb on a full or empty stomach, you’ll want to pair this fun outing either before or after a meal at any of the fantastic restaurants nearby. For example, as a reward, you could celebrate either before or after enjoying that perfect slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. You get the picture.
6. Sightseeing on Two Wheels
In keeping with the theme of physical activity, another great way to celebrate an anniversary is by taking a tour of Franklin or Leiper’s Fork on two wheels with Pedego. It’s always good to call ahead and book your tour in advance but riding around on some sweet electric bikes is a great way to spend a few hours celebrating together!
7. Let’s Get Cooking
Last but certainly not least, learning a new skill is always fun and doing it on an anniversary is even better. Sur La Table recently opened up a new location in Brentwood and hosts various cooking classes that make for a great night together. Visit their calendar online to see whether the classes are hands-on or not and to reserve your spots (they go quickly)!
