15 Delightful Date Nights Sure to Impress!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and you know your sweetie is expecting something more than that last-minute card you picked up at Walgreens on the way home. Why not whisk them away to Franklin, Tennessee for a long weekend? Travel + Leisure did name us one of their “Most Romantic Towns!” From whiskey-sipping to browsing art, we’ve compiled a list of 15 date ideas for you and your significant other. Or you and your dog. Or you and your mom. Whoever you want to bring along- we don’t care!
Check out my recommendations below.
1. The Traditional Date Night
You can’t beat the traditional date night, which includes a delicious meal and a unique cocktail. Check out Gray’s on Main or Cork & Cow for a cozy date night dinner. If you want to turn date night into late night, check out O’Be Joyful, Franklin’s whiskey bar on Main Street.
2. Fresh Finds and Local Wine
If you’re looking for a day date, browse the Franklin Farmers Market on Saturdays at the Factory, then take your farmers market finds to Arrington Vineyards, where you can enjoy a picnic and wine tasting.
3. Start Drinkin’
Get that Lyft ride lined up and hit Franklin’s two local whiskey makers, H Clark Distillery and Leiper’s Fork Distillery, for a tour and tasting. If you find that you and your sweetheart are still thirsty, take a ride around the county and check out local brews at Mill Creek Brewing Co.!
4. Go Back In Time Together
Step back into the Civil-war era as you tour Carnton, Carter and Lotz Houses, each telling the story of Battle of Franklin.
5. Visit the Home of First Kisses
Enjoy a movie at the beautiful and historic Franklin Theatre together with a large bag of popcorn and a Coke!
6. Relaxing is an Art
Head down to the charming village of Leiper’s Fork and book an appointment at the new Spa at Leiper’s Fork for a massage or body treatment, then take a walk to browse the village’s local art galleries.
7. I Love You a Latte
Coffee lovers, cozy up together at one of Franklin’s local coffee shops for a hot cup of specialty coffee and conversation. Honest Coffee Roasters in the Factory, Frothy Monkey, or Coffee and Coconuts are a few go-to coffee spots.
8. Grab a Sweet Treat
Head to Kilwins in Franklin for ice cream or fudge, then stroll and browse the shops on Main Street together.
9. Brew and BBQ
If you haven’t had a date night in historical Nolensville, you’re missing out! Grab a pint at Mill Creek Brewing Co, and then sample some of Pat Martin’s famous BBQ at Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint.
10. Climb to New Heights
Feeling adventurous? Try an indoor rock climbing experience at the Crag. Cheer each other on as you belay on!
11. Escape Together
If you’re looking for a more active date night, check out Extreme Escape Games in Cool Springs, where you and your partner will work together to solve challenging puzzles and escape the immersive room within an hour.
12. Have a Bowl
Get the ball rolling on your relationship (see what I did there) at Kings Dining & Entertainment. Enjoy a drink in their draft room and then hit the lanes for some friendly competition.
For the crafty couple, book a reservation at AR Workshop, where you can create custom decor for your home, all while sipping a glass of wine.
14. TACOS! (And shopping)
Browse the shops at the Factory at Franklin, then grab some tacos and gaze at each other over guac at Mojo’s tacos. You may or may not want to top it off with a little Jeni’s ice cream too.
15. See a Musical Masterpiece
Grab your main squeeze and take them to Studio Tenn for a show-stopping performance year-round. From now until Feb. 24, you can see Always…Patsy Cline.
What have I missed, lovebirds? What would you add to the list?
