And the winner of the ‘Do’ bracket is…
When you think of a timeless classic in Franklin, Tennessee, you immediately think of the Franklin Theatre. One step inside The Franklin Theatre and you’ll fall hard for the good ole’ days. Locals in Franklin refer to the 1937 art deco movie house and live music venue as the “Crown Jewel of Main Street” and the first time you step in as well, you know exactly why.
Known widely as the best 322-seat music venue in the world, this gem dates back to the 1930s after a multi-million dollar renovation a few years ago continues to host intimate concerts from some of the music world’s most known acts, such as Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Keb’ Mo’, and Jason Isbell. Every seat in the house is pretty sweet too! The 322-seat theatre means each live concert feels more like a private serenade. A handful of tabletop seating areas dot the front rows in front of the stage, plus a wine bar and full concessions help turn ordinary movie nights into a special occasion. And if you find yourself at the concession stand you’ll even find a signature chocolate bar almost as legendary as the building itself.
Even before you get inside the Franklin Theatre for a show the classic neon lights outside set the mood for any performance inside the theater.
The Franklin Theatre is not just a music venue either. Staying true to its “home of first kisses” roots, Franklin Theatre is once again a favorite movie house showing both first-run and classic films nearly every day of the week. Oh, and show time is go time (no previews). The theatre is also home to award-winning live theater, comedy acts, and special events.
