You Did It- The Ultimate Franklin Itinerary Is Here!
Well, you did it! You voted throughout the entire month of March and bestowed upon us the Ultimate Franklin Itinerary.
We asked you to vote for your favorite Franklin restaurants, shops, attractions, and accommodations, and you delivered! Now, all that’s left to do is head to Franklin, Tennessee and enjoy this itinerary for yourself. Fasten your seatbelts, keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times and allow me to be your personal tour guide for the perfect day in Franklin, as directed by you!
Shop: Tin Cottage
Start your day on Franklin’s beautiful historic Main Street, where you’ll find our “shop” winner, Tin Cottage. Tin Cottage is a locally owned gift shop, featuring local and artisan gifts with a strong focus on customer service. The shop has been a staple in the Franklin and Middle Tennessee community, and has become a go-to for visitors and locals alike!
When you visit Tin Cottage, don’t miss their Bath Bomb Bar, featuring scents like Lavender and Vanilla. You’ll also find jewelry, candles, home decor, and apparel. Plus, you can snap a photo under their ionic “happy” wall because as Tin Cottage says, “Happiness is a gift!”
Do: Franklin Theatre
After shopping ’til you drop at Tin Cottage, head on down Main Street to the Franklin Theatre. When you think of a timeless classic in Franklin, Tennessee, you immediately think of the Franklin Theatre. One step inside The Franklin Theatre and you’ll fall hard for the good ole’ days. Locals in Franklin refer to the 1937 art deco movie house and live music venue as the “Crown Jewel of Main Street,” and the first time you step in as well, you know exactly why.
Known widely as the best 322-seat music venue in the world, this gem dates back to the 1930s after a multi-million dollar renovation a few years ago continues to host intimate concerts from some of the music world’s most known acts, such as Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Keb’ Mo’, and Jason Isbell. Every seat in the house is pretty sweet too! The 322-seat theatre means each live concert feels more like a private serenade. A handful of tabletop seating areas dot the front rows in front of the stage, plus a wine bar and full concessions help turn ordinary movie nights into a special occasion. And if you find yourself at the concession stand you’ll even find a signature chocolate bar almost as legendary as the building itself. Take a tour of the theatre, or even better-catch a show while you’re here!
Eat: Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint
What’s next? Food, of course! With two fantastic locations in Williamson County (Nolensville and Spring Hill), Martin’s honors the tradition of West Tennessee’s legendary whole-hog Bar-B-Que. They’ve been featured on the Food Network, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel, and The Today Show too! (They’re also featured in Visit Franklin Films newest video below!)
Not only does Martin’s offer authentic Southern BBQ but they are well known for being a whole-hog joint. Hickory smoke permeates their entire menu with juicy smoked turkey breast, tender smoked beef brisket, mouth-watering ribs, and sought-after smoked chicken. Their Southern roots run deep in everything they make: from cherished family desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth to homemade sides created from scratch daily.
Stay: Franklin Marriott Cool Springs
After an exciting day around Franklin, you’ll be ready to kick back and relax. Sitting in the heart of Cool Springs, the renovated Franklin Marriott Cool Springs exudes energy, style, and luxury. Local restaurants, shopping, and attractions are a stone’s throw away, making this hotel a desirable place to rest after a fun day out in Franklin.
Each guest room reflects a modern aesthetic, marrying function and design. You’ll find the latest in in-room technology, including Smart TVs outfitted with Netflix, Hulu, and more. Stay fit in their 24-hour fitness center or indoor pool, then discover creative dining options at the on-site restaurant, Stave Regional Kitchen & Lounge. Little known fact: the hotel also harvests their own honey (used in the restaurant) on the roof! How cool?!
There you have it! Sounds like a pretty perfect day to me. But wait- that’s only one day. You’re going to need at least two more to check out our other amazing attractions, eateries, and shops.
