Like so many others in this beautiful town, I am not originally from Franklin. I’m not even from Tennessee. I grew up in a town outside of Philadelphia with easy access to New Jersey and New York City, so I know a thing or two about the three P’s: pretzels, pasta, and most importantly, PIZZA!
One of my first missions, after I moved to the area, was to find good New York-style pizza. While Franklin, Tennessee may not necessarily scream Italian (it took me forever to find a place that served up a mean Penne Vodka), you just have to know where to look.
So, whatever your preference, whether New York or Chicago style, meat lovers, or very veggie, try out these fantastic local pizzerias and restaurants serving up the best pizza Williamson County has to offer.

Brooklyn Bros. Pizza
All I can say is, this place is legit. The owners of Brooklyn Bros. Pizza are originally from Brooklyn (hence the name), and they know a thing or two about New York-style pizza. The crust is thin and charred just right, and the sauce to cheese ratio is perfection.
They authentically serve it on flimsy paper plates that soak up all that yummy grease. Do yourself a favor and head over to New Highway 96 in Franklin and grab a slice immediately.
Soulshine Pizza Factory
Located in Berry Farms, this pizza factory is your one-stop-shop for stone-fired pizza, live music, and local beer. Customize your pizza or choose from 12 of their famous pies that include The Boss Hawg, The Mississippian, and The Kitchen Sink.
Then finish it off with some of their famous Slap Yo’ Momma Bread Puddin’ while you listen to some live tunes.
Mafiaoza’s Pizzeria
Mafiaoza’s has been a Nashville staple for years, which is why I was so excited when they opened their Franklin location just outside of the Factory.
With a menu full of items with names like Brass Knuckles, The Informant, and Brother Fredo, it’s easy to see the inspiration behind the name. So, stop in and try a pie. They’ll make you a pizza you can’t refuse (sorry, I had to).
Sal’s Family Pizza
Everything about this place reminds me of my favorite pizzeria back home, so I knew it was the real deal from the moment I walked in. Sal’s is nestled on Hillsboro Road in Franklin and serves up the best slices around (the recipe is straight from Sicily).
And if you (and your friends) are brave enough, try your hand at The Godfather Challenge: eat a 36” pizza weighing 11 lbs. in 30 minutes. You’ll go down in history on Sal’s wall of fame!
Brick’s Cafe
Brick’s Cafe is a Brentwood neighborhood staple, and it’s not all about pizza. In fact, they’ve got a wide range of entrée options including steaks, pasta, and burgers, but brick oven pizza just happens to be their forte (it’s really the crust that makes their pizza amazing).
I highly recommend the Margherita and BBQ Smoked Chicken pizzas.
Gina’s Stonefired Italian and Pizzeria
Unlike Brick’s Cafe, Gina’s is all about pizza. With over 15 different kinds of pizza to choose from, you’re sure to find a pie that suits every taste. Try the Chicken Parm Pizza or Joe’s Lasagna Pizza. Their basic cheese pizza is personally my favorite.
Pieology
A play on biology, Pieology lets you take on the science of pizza! There is nothing I love more than customizing my pizza down to the tiniest detail, and Pieology allows you to do just that! Want every topping known to man on your pie? Done! Need gluten-free crust or vegan cheese? You got it!
Nothing is off-limits at this Main Street pizzeria in downtown Franklin. But wait it gets better, your fully customized pizza is ready in just five minutes!
So, my fellow pizza lovers, whether you like your pie piled high with all the toppings or are a minimalist who orders the plain cheese, there is a pizza just for you here in Franklin. You just have to know where to look.
