About September’s Featured Artist:

My name is Tetra Cierpke. I’ve been oil painting for over 20 years and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Belmont University. I am an artist captivated by beauty, on a mission to call attention to overlooked and under-appreciated beauty moments. Over the years, I have found the most joy in capturing the beauty of people and their intricacies and have done quite a bit of portrait painting but recent work has focused more on florals and sky scapes. I work in oil, acrylic, and most recently digital oil painting on an iPad. Because I was a volunteer worker in northern Mozambique for 5 years, my recent work often focuses on the people and babies that I fell in love with in that country. I am commissioned for custom portraits and pet portraits, and I also teach beginner and intermediate semi-realistic oil painting classes, which is a delight.
