Franklin

Franklin, the county seat, was founded in 1799 and named after Benjamin Franklin. It is a unique blend of well-preserved history and progress having grown from a tiny, agricultural community into a vibrant county of residential, commercial and corporate citizens. There is much to see and do in Franklin, from Civil War history with museums and antebellum mansions, to our thriving downtown shopping area and the bustling modern Cool Springs area. Population: 66,280 (2012)
