This 444-mile national scenic byway winds through the rolling hills of Williamson County on its way from Nashville to Natchez, Mississippi, with plenty of scenic stops along the way. Whether you spend 15 minutes or half a day on the parkway, you won’t regret it – No matter the season, the views of forests, fields, ridges and valleys along the parkway are unparalleled.
Cross the famous Natchez Trace Bridge at Milepost 438, a stunning double-arch bridge that spans Franklin’s beautiful Birdsong Hollow. At Milepost 437.2 you’ll find Timberland Park, a fantastic spot for a woodland hike. All the trails here are lovely, including the Big East Fork Reserve loop trail, which includes a serene pond and meadow filled with birds and wildlife. The historic village of Leiper’s Fork is located just off Milepost 428. With its well-curated antique stores, southern restaurants, and interesting art galleries, it makes for an ideal day trip destination.
