FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Calling all music lovers, there’s a new festival happening in Franklin, Tennessee September 26 & 27, 2015. It’s not just any festival. It’s the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, a two-day experience with an incredible lineup of more than 30 musicians led by legendary artists Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow and Steven Tyler.
This first-time festival was a vision-turned-reality for co-founder Kevin Griffin, frontman for Better Than Ezra. Griffin was inspired by the natural beauty and rolling hills of The Park at Harlinsdale Farm after a morning jog led him to this transformed century-old horse farm in Franklin on the picturesque outskirts south of Nashville. Harlinsdale boasts natural amphitheaters and marvelous vistas, the perfect setting for the inaugural Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival.
The festival takes place during the day with four stages of local, regional and national artists like the folk-inspired Trampled by Turtles and Punch Brothers, eclectic indie rockers Wilco and Americana favorites the Lone Bellow as well as an endless roster of must-see performances and artist collaborations.
The local cuisine and culture will be an experience in and of itself during Pilgrimage. The Bazaar will showcase artisans, local and regional crafts, antiques, restaurants and a variety of beer, wine & spirits.
“Franklin is rooted in the Americana experience showcasing our music, history, and Southern charm, making it a natural fit and the perfect backdrop for Pilgrimage,” commented Ellie Westman-Chin of the Williamson County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The draw for an event of this magnitude reaches music lovers on a national and international scale.”
Families are encouraged to attend this daytime festival and check out the ‘Little Pilgrims’ stage featuring young performers. Other kid-friendly activities include arts and crafts just for the kiddos and a play area.
One and two-day tickets are available for Pilgrimage as well as VIP tickets. Children 10 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Gates open each day at 10am, music starts at 10:30am. Parking on site is restricted so check out the website for offsite parking options close to the venue designated for public parking. Pets are not permitted. www.PilgrimageFestival.com.
