FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Ward off any potential Friday the 13th bad luck by visiting the Pup Meetup from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Friday, April 13 at the Visitor Center at 400 Main Street in downtown Franklin. Come with your dog to meet other pups or stop by solo to visit the puppy kissing booth and meet adoptable dogs from the Williamson County Animal Center.

For a small donation, you can step up to the puppy kissing booth at the Visitor Center and instantly make your day brighter. Inside the Visitor Center, in addition to meeting dogs looking for a new home, you can purchase the children’s book My Dog Needs Me from Flowerpot Press for $10, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the Williamson County Animal Center. If guests would rather simply make a donation of any amount to the Williamson County Animal Center, those will also be accepted all day at the Visitor Center.

“Any day you get to spend with the adorable dogs from the Williamson County Animal Center is a good day, and we are thrilled to support such an important organization to our community,” said Williamson County Convention & Visitors Bureau President & CEO Ellie Westman Chin. “The Better Cities For Pets program is showcasing Franklin and Williamson County across the world as a model for pet-friendly cities, and a big part of that is not just welcoming visiting dogs but also taking care of those already here in need of a home. The Williamson County Animal Center does this wonderfully, and we want to help them in any way we can.”

Guests who bring their dogs, or those adopting a dog during the event will also receive a Pedigree Dentastix packet, courtesy of Franklin, Tennessee-based Mars Petcare. Showcasing why Franklin is the pilot city for Mars Petcare’s Better Cities For Pets program, adoptable dogs and staff from the Williamson County Animal Center will be strolling along Main Street during the event.

Shops like Finnley’s on Main Street and certain restaurants will have adoptable dogs to visit with, along with store discounts and drink deals during the event with proceeds going to the Williamson County Animal Center. Guests can also share their Pup Meetup moments on social media using #PupMeetUp.
