This one-hour Community Talk Marching Home: Union Veterans and Their Unending Civil War by guest speaker/author, Brian Matthew Jordan, PhD marks not only the 225th anniversary of the City of Franklin, but also marks 160th anniversary of the Battle of Franklin. The 3rd Annual Muscle Shoals to Main Street, hosted by YOUR Williamson in partnership with The Shoals, will offer an evening of legendary entertainment. Award-winning songwriters and performers will be traveling from Muscle Shoals to Main Street, at the historic Franklin Theatre, for a night of music, memories and stories. The songwriters lineup for this year’s event includes James LeBlanc, Ed Hill and Billy Lawson. Collectively, they have worked with talented artists such as Travis Tritt, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins, Luke Bryan, Faith Hill, John Michael Montgomery, Gretchen Wilson and many more.

This 90-minute Battlefield Tour at Rippa Villa is designed for those that prefer to walk the battlefield and learn details of how the battle unfolded on November 29, 1864, at Rippa Villa in Spring Hill. Today’s battlefield tours are taking place exactly 160 years ago. In commemoration of the 160th Anniversary this Battlefield tour will be lead at three different times, but you must register and pay for the specific tour time.
Battlefield Tours at Rippa Villa are designed for those that prefer to walk the battlefield and learn details of how the battle unfolded on November 29, 1864 at Rippa Villa in Spring Hill. Today’s battlefield tours mark the anniversary exactly 160 years ago. You MUST make a reservation and pay 24 hours prior to the tour.
This evening’s tours are immersive 15-minute guided tours through the home of the Cheairs Family, Rippa Villa. Tonight’s tours are unique due to occurring at night, and on 160th anniversary of the battle. Reservations are NOT required.
65 yrs after the City of Franklin was established, the November 30 1864 battle landed at the City’s doorstep and changed the City, and its citizens forever.
