What makes Dawn so extraordinary is not only the beauty and depth of her work, but the humility and grace with which she has carried a lifetime of achievement. Revered by many as a teacher and mentor, she has been honored with some of the highest distinctions in American representational painting, including Master Status with the American Impressionists Society, the Portrait Society of Excellence in Fine Art Education Society, and Fine Art Connoisseur’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
And yet, for all she has accomplished, what is most remarkable is that, after all these years, there is still such freshness in her work – such openness, such joy, such willingness to explore. In this new collection, Dawn has “played”, offering not only a profound understanding of beauty and mastery, but also a few unexpected surprises woven throughout the paintings.
