Living history portrayal of Carnton in the days and weeks following the Battle of Franklin. The Battle of Franklin Trust has recorded facts of what transpired at Carnton the night of the battle and days and weeks afterwards. However, the McGavocks were not alone in taking care of the wounded. Other private residences and dwellings such as stables, barns, and churches took in both United States and Confederate soldiers. St. Paul’s Church had been used as a US barracks and sheltered the wounded when the US Army continued to Nashville.
