Articles by Matthew Maxey
Associate Director of Public Relations
Matt is the guy who is always ready to share a story with you.

With a passion for new experiences, taking the back roads, and a passion for seeing everything, he has spent time in 46 states (so far) and all 95 counties of Tennessee. If you want to hear the story behind that hidden gem of a BBQ joint found off the beaten path, Matt has probably been there.

Before joining Visit Franklin, Matt was the Assistant Sports Information Director at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He also had his own public relations consulting business where he worked with government officials at all levels, non-profits, and small businesses. You can now find Matt exploring the back roads of Williamson County looking for the next great story to share.

When not pitching a story idea to travel writers, you’ll likely find Matt working as a photographer on the sidelines of college and professional sports events across the Southeast. The former collegiate golfer still likes chasing a golf ball around the course too. Although he has witnessed 14 holes-in-one in his life, one has yet to come off his club. Not one to give up, he continues to chase that elusive ace and works on his game at some of the great golf courses around Williamson County.
