The 6 Best Ways to Soak Up Summer at Southall

Southall Farm & Inn has drawn visitors in droves since doors opened in late 2022 thanks to its breathtaking scenery of rolling hills and lush gardens, luxury accommodations, and noteworthy amenities—among them, a world-class spa, intimate farm-to-table dining, and a bevy of on-site experiences (falconry, anyone?).

This summer will be Southall’s first, and I think I speak for everyone when I say I cannot wait to see what’s in store. We’ve rounded up a collection of ways both resort guests and community members can enjoy all that Southall has to offer this summer (and beyond!).

Dine at Sojourner

Sojourner, Southall’s all-day café, is open for both resort guests and the community for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu pulls from the seasonal harvest, which may (hopefully?) include Southern summer delicacies like tomatoes, corn, and melon this year. Executive Chef Andrew Klamar is behind the menu, which ranges from smoothies to soups, pastas, and steaks.

For an extra special experience this summer, book the Italian Wine Makers Dinner taking place June 15. The multi-course tasting will be hosted by Joe De Caro and will feature a pairing of six Italian wines with the meal.

Visit the Spa at Southall

The Spa at Southall is a treat any time of year, but it’s the perfect spot to beat the heat and rejuvenate during what’s sure to be a scorching summer in Tennessee. Book services like a massage or bodywork remedy and gain access to extras, including a eucalyptus aromatherapy steam room, Himalayan salt sauna, a pool packed with 60 essential minerals, a thermotherapy circuit, and relaxation lounges.

Explore the Aerial Adventure Course

Experience summer from above at Southall’s aerial adventure course, open Sundays from 3 – 5 p.m. Priced at $100 per person (available to resort and non-resort guests), the course is a combination of obstacles and zip lines suspended above Southall’s grounds. It is an excellent way to explore the outdoors this summer.

Take a Class

Several educational opportunities are available to book at Southall, perfect for a summertime date night or an outing with friends. Try Food Fables, a dive into the journey of a vegetable from seed to dish led by a farmer, jammery chef, and a sommelier. Or, perfect your green thumb with Ready Set Grow, a farmer-led lesson on planting, gardening, soil health, and more. Honey lovers can also book a tasting trio of honey, wine, and small plates led by Southall’s chef, beekeeper, and sommelier.

Shop at The Farm Stand

Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the community is invited to shop The Farm Stand, a collection of Southall’s harvest, specialty products, and goods like pressed juices and ice creams. Bring a picnic basket to fill, then enjoy your treats while strolling through the quaint village of Leiper’s Fork

Book a Stay

For the most immersive experience at Southall this summer, book a stay in one of the property’s cottages, guest rooms, or suites, each providing a luxurious respite rooted in the outdoors. During your stay, explore the stunning grounds of the working farm, borrow a canoe for a lap around the lake, or enjoy one of Southall’s unique onsite experiences like falconry, mountain biking, fly fishing, archery, or guided hikes.
