FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Visit Franklin will participate in the Event Service Professionals Association’s (ESPA) National Celebrate Service Week, July 30 – August 3, with five days of giving back and honoring Williamson County’s service professionals. In addition to a week of giving, Visit Franklin has awarded its inaugural Pineapple Award, recognizing a hospitality service professional for exceptional service to Argelia Campos of the Hampton Inn & Suites – Franklin (Cool Springs).
National Celebrate Services Week was established by the ESPA to create a week focused on event service managers at hotels, convention centers, and convention and visitors bureaus and to celebrate what event service managers do for the hospitality industry. Visit Franklin has expanded that mission locally to honor all who play a role in serving and protecting visitors. Hospitality partners will also be joining together to donate items such as toiletries and bedding to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Vanderbilt at Williamson Medical Center.
“There are so many incredible people who work in the hospitality and service industry here in Williamson County, and what they do daily to go above and beyond what is required to ensure guests in our community are welcomed is something we can’t show enough appreciation for,” said Visit Franklin President & CEO Ellie Westman Chin. “I could not be any more proud of the work they do for all our visitors, and the way they have all come together and made this week not just about celebrating their work, but also giving back to this community they love just shows the heart and soul of the people working in this industry.”
Named after the international symbol for hospitality, Visit Franklin’s inaugural Pineapple Award was presented to Campos who is the Executive Housekeeper at the Hampton Inn & Suites – Franklin Cool Springs. Campos and her housekeeping team have been recognized and acknowledged by guests for their work, and extraordinarily detailed extra touches such as shaping toilet paper ends to look like a rose and tissues by the sink in the form of a flower bouquet. Campos has also enrolled herself in classes to become bilingual so she can more conversationally communicate with her staff and guests.
The Visit Franklin staff will celebrate the service professionals throughout the week with the following events:
Monday, July 30: Providing breakfast to hotel service teams.
Tuesday, July 31: Providing breakfast to first responders.
Wednesday, Aug. 1: Passing out sweet treats to downtown Franklin merchants and employees.
Thursday, Aug. 2: Participating in a blood drive at the Hilton Suites Brentwood
Friday, Aug. 3: Drop off collected donations at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Vanderbilt at Williamson Medical Center
