FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Megan Weisinger has been promoted to Director of Business Development at the Williamson County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Weisinger will continue working with current and developing new corporate and business partnerships, while also advocating on behalf of preservation efforts, special projects, overseeing the Visitor Center and Visit Franklin Ambassador Program. Previously, Weisinger served as Senior Business Development Manager.

“Megan Weisinger has been an integral part of our staff for years and has become a trusted voice throughout Williamson County,” said Williamson County Convention & Visitors Bureau President and CEO Ellie Westman Chin. “The relationships she has built over the years have led to incredible advances in our Visitor Center, the creation of a revamped Visit Franklin Ambassador Program, and helped attract international conventions to Franklin. We look forward to seeing all that she can do in her new role.”

Since joining the WCCVB in August of 2014, Weisinger has risen from the ranks of Visitor Center Manager after helping drive an 88 percent increase in retail sales and 27 percent increase in visitor traffic in the Visitors Center. The popular Visit Franklin Ambassador Program has risen to popularity under Weisinger’s management, training over 150 frontline hospitality industry workers in its first year of 2016 and is on pace to train over 500 new ambassadors by the year 2020.

Weisinger also spearheaded last year’s Music Tourism Convention, held at The Factory at Franklin. The convention was in partnership with United Kingdom-based music advocacy group Sound Diplomacy and was the first music-focused tourism convention held in the United States.
