Lauren Ward Joins Visit Franklin as Marketing & Communications Director

FRANKLIN, Tenn.  – The Williamson County Convention & Visitors Bureau has added Lauren Ward to its staff as Director of Marketing & Communications. Ward will lead the WCCVB’s marketing team in development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies targeted to reach its four primary markets of leisure travelers, group tours, meetings & conferences, along with youth and amateur sports tournaments.

“Lauren brings a level of marketing and communications expertise that is going to help us take the next steps in achieving our vision of attracting the world to Williamson County,” said President & CEO Ellie Westman Chin. “Her experience, along with a tremendous ability to think creatively and outside the mainstream, made her a clear choice to guide the aggressive marketing efforts we set forth in our Tourism 2020 plan.”

Ward joins the WCCVB from Nashville-based public relations firm MP&F. She has extensive experience conceptualizing and implementing strategic public relations plans, marketing and advertising campaigns for a variety of clients including the U.S. Department of Labor’s Job Corps program, Athens State University, Elmington Capital Group and Skanska USA.

“I’m thrilled to join the Williamson County CVB and look forward to contributing to this all-star team of marketing professionals,” said Ward. “Williamson County is a gem in the Middle Tennessee area and I’m excited to play a part in sharing it with visitors.”

A native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Ward is a graduate of The University of Tennessee, where she earned a degree in Communication Studies and also gained experience as an intern with the Knoxville Tourism & Sports Commission and global PR firm Burson-Marsteller.
